The /brôd/, is located in downtown and it is the newest addition to the museum life in Los Angeles. It's modern, fresh, interesting, and unique in every way possible. It certainly tests the boundaries of what art is... Even taking it to an extreme of a room with nothing but lights and mirrors, and a large oversized table.
I personally love when artists, creators, inventors, musicians and anyone in a field, go beyond the boundaries set for their field to create "new." I'm always challenged by their feats and their boldness to hold nothing back in terms of creativity. Particularly here at The Broad, most art surpasses the boundaries of paint and canvas.
Although admissions is free, in order to get in, you gave to request tickets in advance since it really has become a hit for locals to see... I guess anything free in LA will almost always be a hit.
Recently some friend couldn't make their time slot so they offered their tickets to us... Luckily, we were driving through downtown and it was the most perfect timing. So we got to go without the wait of weeks or even months. (Thanks Bess & M!!!)
A little tip: If you're planning on visiting, download for free The Broad app. You can order tickets via the app, use it for self guided tours, learn about the architecture and much more. It's very helpful and can help you navigate throughout effortlessly!
It's definitely worth the stop if you get a chance. And if you're planning a trip just make sure to request your tickets in advance!
